Ontario income tax calculator for 2026
This Canada tax calculator estimates federal and provincial or territorial income tax, CPP or QPP contributions, EI and QPIP premiums where applicable, and after-tax income. Choose a province or territory, then enter your income, expected RRSP or FHSA deductions, capital gains, Canadian dividends, and income tax already paid to see a practical annual tax estimate.
How this Canadian tax calculator works
Income tax is progressive: each tax rate applies only to the portion of taxable income inside that bracket. This calculator applies 2026 federal and selected provincial or territorial tax brackets, standard basic personal credits, the Canada employment amount, CPP, EI, and Ontario surtax and health premium rules when Ontario is selected. Capital gains use the standard 50% inclusion rate, while eligible and ineligible Canadian dividends use their respective gross-up and tax-credit treatment.
Why province and territory matter
Your federal tax rules are shared across Canada, but provincial and territorial tax brackets, personal credits, payroll programs, surtaxes, and health premiums can change your final estimate. Choose the Canadian province or territory where you expect to be resident on December 31 for a more customized tax-rate estimate.
2026 tax-rate sources
This calculator uses published 2026 tax and payroll information. Review the CRA federal and provincial or territorial rate tables, Manitoba CRA payroll guidance, Revenu Quebec's 2026 income tax rates, Quebec's 2026 payroll updates, and Yukon CRA payroll guidance, the CRA's T5 dividend guide, and Ontario's dividend tax credit guidance. Tax rules and personal circumstances can change an estimate, so confirm important figures before filing.
